Optimization of Moda Operandi App Navigation Bar Design
Moda Operandi is an online luxury fashion retail platform that allows customers to pre-order fashion items directly from designers after runway shows. At the project's inception, Moda Operandi decided to exit the men's segment, and the rapid growth during the Trunkshow phase led to numerous experience-related issues. The company hopes to address these problems by initiating a redesign from a business perspective.
Research revealed two types of users: core users, who are fashion enthusiasts and the primary buyers, and casual users, who use the app as a fashion information reference.
• China: 5 groups, 102 questionnaires, and 5 video recordings
• Other countries: 3 groups, 83 questionnaires, and 3 video recordings
• User-side post-evaluation, user feedback, designer observation records, and designer heuristic evaluation
With the product's exit from the men's business and the rapid growth during the Trunkshow phase, the user base has shifted from a general audience to a more niche audience. Therefore, both the navigation structure and visual design need to be adjusted.
After focusing on the niche user base, the product's tone shifted to a more refined approach. Priorities for the redesign include reducing visual noise and enhancing screen effectiveness.
