Arriver—Non-Standardized Fashion Design
Standardization is a product of industrialization. While it brings convenience and speeds up the rhythm of life, it also leads to monotony and uniformity. The shift from a luxury-focused era to one that values the expression of individual personality has marked the rise of non-standardized design. Non-standardization encourages mass participation, making everyone a designer.
Everyone harbors three mundane dreams: to fly, to achieve immortality, and to foresee the future. While the latter two may forever remain out of reach, the dream of flight is nestled within every aspiring heart.
“THE ARRIVAL” draws inspiration from paragliding, symbolizing the notion of the "arriver."
Sketch Book
Based on the inspiration from paragliding, research was conducted on its cultural and historical background, design appearance simulation, and emotional expression. This involved brainstorming from the earliest origins of paragliding to the constricted elements in post-World War II women's fashion, as well as Chaplin's humor and Pina Bausch's dance. The keywords extracted are: Power, Freedom, Dynamics.
The design of the paraglider-inspired bag features a convertible opening mechanism, allowing it to function as a regular shoulder bag when needed.
